class of 2017Following are a list of events for Seniors from ARHS College Advisor Myra Ross.  These events are from September 2016 to November 30, 2016: September 10 ACT (Deerfield, NMH, Brattleboro, E. Longmeadow)

September 12 Smith College essay-writing presentation; Campus Center Carroll Room; 7-9 pm

Mid-September – Sign up for PSAT at ARHS on November 2.

September 16 Registration deadline for Oct 22 ACT w/ no late fee (Sept 30 w/late fee, even with fee waiver)

September 18 Workshop for Early Decision/Action Candidates and Parents/Guardians;

2:30 – 3:30 p.m.; ARHS Choral Room

September 19 Early applicants should have completed questionnaire and made appointments w/ college advisor for planning, and guidance counselor required recommendation.

September 27 Hampshire County College Fair; 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.; Smith Academy, Hatfield

October 1 Signed lime green release forms due in Guidance.

October 1 SAT; ARHS; registration deadline Sept. 1 w/ no late fee (Sept. 13 w/ fee waiver or late fee)

October 1 2017-18 FAFSA available for completion; Use 2015 federal income tax return; complete fin aid

forms ASAP. Meet fin aid deadlines.

October 7 Registration deadline for November 5 SAT w/ no late fee (Oct 18 w/ fee waiver or late fee)

October 12 Requests for school portion of applications (transcript, recommendations) must be in Naviance for November 1 st college deadlines.

October 16 UMASS Open House for Seniors; all programs; 9:30 a.m.; Mullins Center; register in advance at umass.edu

October 18 ARHS College Admissions Night; important professional panel presentation for Seniors and

Parents/Guardians; 7:00– 8:30 p.m.; ARHS Cafeteria.

October 22 ACT; registration deadline Sept 16 w/ no late fee; Sept 30 w/ late fee, even with fee waiver.

October 24 Teacher recommendations due in Naviance for students w/ November 1 deadlines.

October 26 Request for school portion of application (transcripts, recommendations) must be in Naviance for November 15th college deadlines

October 27 Boston NACAC Performing and Visual Arts Fair:  7:00-9:00 p.m.; Boston U. Fuller Building

DATE TBA Athletes and College Recruiting Presentation; 7:00 p.m.; ARHS library.

November 1 All 4-year college applicants should have appointments w/ college advisor for planning, and guidance counselor regarding required recommendation.

November 1-15 Early decision and early action deadlines at many colleges

Nov 1, 2 or 3 – TBA – Essay Day; Amherst College students assist seniors w/ college essays; 30-minute conferences; sign up in advance

November 2 – PSAT at ARHS during the school day.

November 3 Registration deadline for December 3 SAT w/ no late fee (Nov 15 w/ fee waiver or late fee)

November 3 ARHS Financial Aid Night professional MEFA presentation 7:00-8:30 p.m. ARHS Cafeteria
