Congratulations to Catalina Yang! Her poem “Trust the Horse” has won 1st place in Massachusetts and been judged the overall New England winner in this year’s Classical Association of New England Writing Contest. The theme this year was “Equo ne credite, Teucri: trickery and treachery in classical antiquity.” Catalina’s poem “Trust the Horse” is a clever reversal of the famous story of the Greek capture of Troy. Catalina will read her poem in March at the annual CANE banquet. This is the second year in a row that an ARHS student has won top honors in Massachusetts. Last year Sophia Fang won 1st place in Massachusetts for her poem “Non Sum Qualis Eram.”
