The Town of Amherst and the Amherst Municipal Affordable Housing Trust Fund announce the availability of Round Two for short-term emergency rental assistance available for Amherst renters experiencing a loss or reduction of income due to COVID-19. Rental assistance is available for up to 3 months. 

Eligible households: 

• Must be renters living in Amherst and be an eligible household 
• Must have a documented loss or reduction of income due to COVID-19 
• Households do not have to be currently behind in their rent or have a late notice. 
• Household annual gross income may not exceed 80% Area Median Income.
• Assistance is available on a first-come, first serve basis. 
• Households living in subsidized housing are eligible for assistance with rent arrears only. 
• Households cannot be entirely comprised of full-time college students (some exceptions apply). 
• Households must demonstrate a need for assistance. Households with sufficient income and/or savings to pay their monthly rent will not be eligible. Some savings is allowable.

CIUDAD DE AMHERST COVID-19 PROGRAMA DE EMERGENCIA DE ASISTENCIA DE ALQUILER

 

La ciudad de Amherst y el Fondo Fiduciario de Vivienda Asequible anuncian la segunda ronda de asistencia de emergencia a corto plazo con renta; disponible para los residentes de Amherst que están experimentando pérdida o reducción de ingresos económicos a causa del COVID-19. La asistencia será disponible hasta por 3 meses. 

Hogares Elegibles: 

• Deben ser inquilinos que vivan en Amherst y ser una familia elegible. 
• Deben tener documentación de pérdida o reducción de ingresos debido al COVID-19. 
• No necesita estar atrasado con el pago de la renta, o tener una nota de pago atrasado.
• El ingreso económico anual del hogar no debe exceder el 80% del Ingreso Medio del Área
• La asistencia se dará por orden de aplicante “primero en llegar, primero servido”. 
• Las familias que viven en viviendas subsidiadas únicamente podrán obtener asistencia con renta atrasada. 
• Las familias no pueden estar compuestas únicamente por estudiantes universitarios a tiempo completo (aplican algunas excepciones). 
• Las familias deben demostrar su necesidad de asistencia. Hogares con suficientes ingresos económicos y/o ahorros para cubrir la renta no serán elegibles. Algunos ahorros son permitidos.
