A Better Chance (ABC) is a national nonprofit residential high school program that prepares academically talented and highly motivated African American, Latino, Asian, and Native American students from educationally underserved school districts for college and future leadership roles in the broader community. Since the Amherst ABC program began over 50 years ago, more than 130 ABC scholars have graduated from Amherst Regional High School and attended more than 50 colleges and universities. Scholars live together in the ABC House in downtown Amherst.
If you would like to join this working board, or serve as a host family to one of our scholars, please contact ABC at mail@amherstabetterchance.org. The organization is actively seeking community members with leadership skills, treasurer experience, and/or interest in learning to manage its donor database (eTapestry).
