The Human Performance lab at the University of Massachusetts is currently scheduling participants who are 16-18 years of age and have their permit with at least 10 hours of driving experience or teenagers who have had their full license for 6 months or less for a driving simulator study funded by the American Automobile Association Foundation for Traffic Safety (AAA).
Each participant will be asked to come to 1 session at the HPL that will last approximately 2 – 3 hours. During the study participants will be asked to complete a training program designed for new drivers and go through drives on our simulator, driving as you normally would in a real car. We are paying participants who complete this session $100. Partial compensation will be available for participants who choose to end the session early. In the Assent form it states that there are 2 studies and you will be paid $40 for each. This information has changed. The second study is an option for you and you will be paid $40 if you decided to come back in and participate in three months. The first study will pay $100 for your time not $40 as this sheet says. When you come in I will change this by hand before I sign it.
