The Graphic Wins Awards

The Graphic won a highest achievement award at the New England Scholastic Press Association (NESPA) contest/conference this year.

Sara Barber-Just entered 30 pieces or more from the last year and a half. Students from schools all over New England participate. Journalists, journalism professors, and teachers judge the contest.

Four ARHS students nabbed prizes in specific categories: graduate Stanley Cliche, for his feature “The Breakfast Club gets a makeover”; senior Ollie Noble for his news story “Students crushed to lose Foods classes”; junior Ben Robes-Kenworthy for his personality profile on Solomon Goldstein Rose; and junior Soren Campbell for his sweet feature “One big happy family: parents and kids ‘share’ ARHS.”

To quote Ms. Baber-Just: “These pieces are truly funny, smart, powerful, touching, and engaging pieces of writing, each for different reasons!”
