Dear Class of 2020,
In beginning this communication to you I personally want to thank you for your leadership in bringing back the high level of spirit to ARHS. Whether it was homecoming, sports contests or other related extracurricular activities you were huge in resurrecting the Hurricane Nation. In the academic realm, we excelled in many areas where several of your classmates were recognized for numerous honors. I know that many of you have questions related to the traditional end of the year activities such as prom, senior last day of school, awards night, and of course graduation. The senior class advisors have been meeting with your class officers in efforts to decide how best to honor your accomplishments and recognize the ultimate recognition for every senior, that being graduation. A survey has been developed that asks for your input in helping to decide how to best handle many of the end of year activities. The class advisors, student activities director, class officers, as well as the administration would like your input so that we can best plan in the event that we do not return to school this year. I know that this has not been the way you envisioned your senior year and we are sorry that anyone has to experience this ending, but in the end we are all Amherst Hurricanes. In the coming days more information will be coming forth related to end of the year activities and recognitions. Please be safe and stay healthy.
