ARPS Snow Day Survey Results

Thank you to all of the families, students and staff members who shared their feedback through the surveys regarding whether snow days should be called during this period of remote learning.  A significant percentage of both ARPS families and staff shared that they regularly lose power and internet access during large storms.  After discussing the feedback at their meeting this week, the School Committees agreed that it will be in the best interest of students if snow days are called for significant storms that have the strong potential to result in loss of power.  For mild or moderate storms, the District will hold school remotely as usual.  The decision about whether to call a snow day for any storm will be made by the evening before it is predicted to start so families and staff will know whether to plan for virtual school the next day.  The decision will be shared through the usual media outlets, including the district snow line, which is 362-1898.
