It has been great seeing so many students and educators back in the high school. The adjustment to being around so many people again and following the routines of everyday school has its challenges, but is going smoothly overall.
Teachers continue to work tirelessly to provide high quality educational instruction in this new hybrid teaching model. During this week of learning and reflecting, teachers are sharing the things that have worked well, we’re listening to the feedback we’ve been receiving, and thinking about what adjustments we need to make so the hybrid experience is better for everyone.
Throughout the week some students and families have been letting us know that their original choice to be in-person or remote no longer feels like the best option for them. The change back to remote from in-person is not a challenge, but we need students and families to either commit to being fully in-person or to make the change back to remote ASAP. This will help us deal with some of the many challenges that come with making the change from remote to in-person. We’re trying to come up with an equitable way for that change to happen for as many students as we can safely accommodate. As soon as we figure that out, we will let families know.
We appreciate the continued support families have been giving to their children and our school during this transition, and throughout the school year. Your feedback, and patience while we make these adjustments are valuable to us. Please continue to let us know what’s working and what isn’t working for your family. Thanks and take care.
