Thank you to all of the families and staff members who signed up to participate in the free rapid COVID test kit program.  Home testing is an important part of our mitigation efforts, particularly since it helps identify asymptomatic individuals.  As you know, the District experienced a significant spike in cases following the winter holidays, and we are asking for the ARPS community’s help in keeping our numbers down after next week’s February break.  If you receive rapid test kits from the district (or have one at home from a different source), please plan to test yourself (for staff) or your children on Sunday morning, February 27 before returning to the school buildings on Monday. If the test is positive, please stay home and notify your school nurse on Monday morning.  The nurses are available at the following numbers:

ARHS: Robbin Suprenant 362-1473 Mary O’Brien 362-1744

I am pleased to share some wonderful news about both students and staff members in this week’s newsletter.  You’ll see stories below about the achievement of our girls swim team, about a well-deserved honor bestowed upon Athletic Director Victoria Stewart, about our Pioneer Valley Excellence in Teaching Award recipients, and a student-written story about ARMS art teacher Rodney Madison.  I couldn’t be prouder of our amazing students and staff at ARPS and am happy to share such happy news as we leave for break!
