ARHS Students to Perform a Symphony in Boston

Amherst Regional High School students Mason Cianfrani-Shin and Cythnia Tian, who play cello and violin, respectively with the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (BPYO), will perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 6. on Sunday, March 2, at 3 PM at Symphony Hall in Boston.

The BPYO would like to offer $5 tickets to students and their families with code BPYO5 at checkout. Just go here and click on the “Buy Tickets” button and then enter the code when prompted.

Often referred to as the “Tragic” symphony, Mahler’s Sixth is a powerful exploration of struggle and resilience. Performing it requires exceptional skill and immense emotional commitment. After receiving critical acclaim for last season’s performances of Mahler’s Fifth Symphony in major European concert halls, the BPYO musicians are prepared to take on this equally formidable challenge. For more info about the Boston Philharmonic visit http://www.bostonphil.org/concerts or call 617-236-0999.

Thank You for Supporting the Weather Station Project

The Computer Science Club extends its thanks to everyone who supported the Weather Station Project fundraiser, to help the Computer Science Club at ARHS build a weather station! The donation goal has now been reached thanks to your generous contributions! If you would still like to donate, you can head to this link. The club members plan to start building after we get all the parts in the spring, once the weather warms up. They are also planning to partner with local news sources to get the project more publicity. And with the guidance and support of the Computer Science Club advisor, Ling Xue (xuel@arps.org) along with many other awesome people, including Mr. Sadiq, the students have decided to build the weather station on the top of the football concession stand! They just recently went to scout out the location. – Ella Wang (on behalf of the Comp Sci Club)
