Next MPAC Meeting: December 4, 7-8 pm

Come learn how the ARPS Family Center can serve you, in a presentation offered by Dr. Marta Guevara, Director of Student and Family Engagement. The Family Center’s mission is “to connect students, their families and the community to partner for student academic achievement and success overall.” We will also be discussing the upcoming ACCESS testing, and planning for our next meeting in January, which will be held in person.

As always, we will hold space for questions and concerns you have, and may want to bring up to the school. Remember, the MPAC is meant to serve as a voice for multilingual families in our school district. We look forward to seeing you!

Support the Efforts of our ARHS Women’s Rights Club!

The ARHS Women’s Rights Club is commencing their annual Pad and Tampon drive for the Amherst Survival Center. The drive directly supports members of our community and raises awareness at ARHS around issues that adversely impact all women like the “pink tax” and general inaccessibility of menstrual products (“Did you know people typically spend over $18,000 on period products over a lifetime??).

How can we help?

DONATE to the DRIVE: Send in or bring unopened packages of menstrual pads or tampons. There are donation boxes around the high school. The drive will run now through mid-December. (Note: Pads are preferred by ASC).

SUPPORT the BAKE SALE on 11/20: Bring/send in money or bring/send unopened packages of menstrual pads or tampons. One unopened box of products = one baked good! All awareness raised supports a more equitable world, and all proceeds go to support the Amherst Survival Center.

ASK YOUR KIDS about the drive to help spread awareness. Please spread the word, too!

Thank You Thursdays Sign Up

The ARHS Parent Guardian Organization is excited to announce the return of “Thank You Thursdays” — which we started back in Fall of 2021. It’s an opportunity for ARHS families to provide treats every other Thursday to show our gratitude and appreciation to the incredible staff, and give them a little boost during the week.

Every other Thursday, we are inviting ARHS families to provide cookies or other treats, homemade or store-bought, whatever works for you (no nuts, please). There are approximately 180 staff and teachers at the High School, and 20-30 have various dietary restrictions. Please add a note with “gluten free, vegan, or dairy free” for any treats that fall in those categories. Fresh fruit is always welcome, too!

** If you’d like your serving container returned to you please put your name on the bottom; you can pick it up in the office on a subsequent day. **

Thank you! It’s a small gesture that can make a big difference. Please spread the word to other families who might be interested in participating! Here’s the Sign Up!
