On Wednesday, February 17 at 7pm, Amherst Cinema screens the 2006 thriller CHILDREN OF MEN as part of its popular Science on Screen series. The series pairs current and classic film with lively introductions by experts in science, medicine and technology, offering opportunities to explore and think about science in new ways.
Dr. Halina Wiczyk joins us to discuss ovarian and sperm aging, environmental factors, and new frontiers in fertility treatment. She is a Reproductive Endocrinologist at Baystate Medical Center. Dr. Wiczyk started the In Vitro Fertilization program 25 years ago and has seen it develop into a state-of-the-art entity offering a myriad of treatments.
Dr. Wiczyk is also a clerkship director in Obstetrics and Gynecology for Tufts University School of Medicine. Ob/Gyn is a core requirement in medical school and approximately a quarter of the Tufts class rotates through Baystate in their third year.
