“YOUth Should Vote!” Student Video Contest

The League of Women Voters of Massachusetts (LWVMA) is inviting Massachusetts high school students to enter its third annual Student Video Contest. The theme for this year’s contest is “YOUth Should Vote!” We need your help to get the word out.

What is the “YOUth Should Vote!” Student Video Contest? To mobilize the youth vote in Election 2016, the League is inviting Massachusetts high school students to send in 30-second videos (public service announcements) that encourage young people to register to vote and turn out at the polls in November. First place wins $1,000; second place wins $500; and third place wins $250. The winning videos will be widely publicized and winners will be invited to an award ceremony at the Massachusetts State House.

The Contest is open to any Massachusetts high school student in grades 9-12. Entries may be submitted online at www.lwvma.org starting this week. The deadline for submissions isMarch 31, 2016. Judging will take place in April, and winners will be announced in May.
