Dear ARPS Community:
We are writing to inform you that a staff member in the Fort River School community has tested positive for COVID-19. Our first responsibility is to keep our students and staff safe, so we have been planning for this scenario during our reopening planning process. The areas frequented by the staff member who tested positive have been sanitized and/or closed off for deep cleaning, and the district is supporting the affected staff member as they navigate this stressful experience. Since students have not returned to in-person learning, no students were in close contact with the staff member.
Our staff have been closely adhering to the safety protocols when in the buildings, including mask wearing, hand washing, and physical distancing. These measures, taken in combination, greatly reduce the risk of additional transmission. Though we cannot provide specific information about the staff member who tested positive, those who were in close contact with the staff member have already been notified privately and will self-quarantine for 14 days after the last exposure to the person who tested positive, regardless of test result. We are also following all Department of Health protocols, including collaborating with our local board of health to complete contact tracing.
We are committed to continuous communication with and support of our families and staff. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact Jill Conselino at email@example.com. If there is additional transmission as a result of this case or a separate case, we will send out another message immediately. Thank you for your continued support.
